Hainan intl tourism consumption center plan focuses on Sanya ICIF

On Oct 26, the General Office of the People's Government of Hainan Province issued the "14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for the Construction of an International Tourism Consumption Center in Hainan Province," in which it proposed that the Sanya International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF) should be prioritized.

The plan mentions Sanya several times in relation to duty-free shopping, international medical care and international education. According to the plan, Hainan will support Sanya in establishing the China Hainan International Cultural Relics and Art Trade Center, Sanya China Service International Duty Free Shopping Park Phase II, Sanya International Travel and Health Center, Sanya traditional Chinese medicine service export base, Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, Hainan Island International Film Festival, Sanya International Music Festival, new service benchmark city for digital life, China (Sanya) Cross-border Electronics Commercial Comprehensive Pilot Area and Atlantis Resort Area.

The plan states that Hainan's consumer supply-side structural reforms have achieved remarkable results, consumption has been further upgraded and expanded, and the consumption-based economy has reached a new level. The role of consumption in stabilizing growth, promoting reforms, adjusting economic structure, and benefiting people's livelihoods has been significantly increased.
