'Home of Volunteers' set up in Sanya for Asian Beach Games

Nearly 100 volunteers and outstanding youth representatives from various districts of Sanya gathered in Luhuitou Scenic Area in Sanya on April 28 to celebrate the launch of the "Home of Volunteers" for the 6th Asian Beach Games.

Zhou Jun, deputy secretary general of the 6th Asian Beach Games Organizing Committee and deputy mayor of Sanya, handed the volunteer flags to the representatives of the volunteers, as well as unveiled the plate of the volunteer home.

Yang Xiaoyao, one of the volunteers, brought her three-year-old son to participate in the event. "The 6th Asian Beach Games is a grand event in Sanya this year, and it is closely related to us residents. I hope that the children can feel the service sprit of Sanya residents and be a caring and grateful person in the future."

As the first volunteer home in Sanya, the place will provide ticket discounts for volunteers, as well as offer them chances to carry out exchanges and receive training.

Volunteers are a key component for the successful hosting of the intercontinental games. At present, the organizing committee has completed the recruitment of the first batch of volunteers, and a total of more than 8,000 volunteers have signed up.
