Tianya district's Maling community, also known as Tianya town, is a coastal tourist destination in the west of Sanya, located to the west of Sanya Bay and across the sea from West Island.

The century-old fishing town has a 1-kilometer-long coastline, more than 1,300 distinctive houses, and is home to the rich Sanya fishermen culture.

Distinctive homestays line the streets, all of which lead directly to the sea. Entering the town, visitors are met with all kinds of vibrant graffiti.

Stand Up Paddle (SUP) is a popular water sport in the town. An SUP board is more stable and easier to handle than a surfboard, and gives tourists an up-close look at the beautiful scenery.

Tourists can enjoy local snacks such as Qingbuliang - a cold, sweet dessert soup, seafood barbecue, shrimp cakes, rice dumplings and seasonal fruits in the town. There are also a number of bars, bookstores, teahouses, and coffee shops which are popular online.
