Sanya's Hongtang Bay dazzles visitors from across region

Hainan on Feb 3 released its list of Beautiful Bays in Hainan 2025 and with its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters Hongtang Bay, located off the coast of the resort city of Sanya, made the cut.

Sanya has now achieved a full sweep in terms of its Provincial Beautiful Bay status. All six major bays, namely Sanya Bay, Haitang Bay, Yalong Bay, Yazhou Bay, Yulin Bay and Hongtang Bay, have now received provincial recognition for their beauty.

Of these, Sanya Bay, Haitang Bay and Yalong Bay have also been included as outstanding examples of beautiful bays at the national level.

The latest accolade not only adds to Sanya's ecological achievements, but also highlights the city's solid progress made in integrating land-sea planning and systematic ecological restoration.

Behind the honor lies its long-term dedication and innovative breakthroughs. To promote high-quality development of the beautiful bays citywide, Sanya has focused on the ecological strengths and development goals of the six major bays.

By implementing the "one bay, one policy" strategy, Sanya has significantly improved the quality of its bay ecosystems and coastal environments, creating a new vision for beautiful bays across the region.

Moving forwards, plans are for Sanya to take the construction of beautiful bays as a new starting point to continue advancing the high-level protection of the entire marine ecological environment.
