Sanya's project construction lays foundation for development

In the past decade, Sanya has adhered to project construction to drive effective investment, boost economic development, and improve its residents' quality of life.

The construction of Sanya International Yacht Center project has been surging recently. The construction of the main structure has been completed, while work on secondary decoration and curtain wall installation is underway.

The Sanya International Yacht Center project will include two yacht exhibition halls and one marine culture interaction hall, forming a complex covering yacht and aquatic product use training, exhibition, sales, service, cultural and artistic creativity, offices, as well as catering and retail. When the project is completed, it will help Sanya build a world-class yacht tourism consumption center, as well as an internationally renowned yacht exhibition and trading center.

In addition, Sanya has focused on cultivating high-tech industries, expanding modern service industries, and promoting industrial transformation over the past decade.

In the past three years, Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City has focused on the "Nanfan Silicon Valley" and the deep-sea science and technology fields to lay out major scientific and technological infrastructure and industrial platforms. It has attracted 11 top universities and 17 scientific research institutions.

The construction of Sanya International Duty Free City's phase 2 project is also in full swing. The project focuses on building a "luxury hotel + duty-free business" complex, with the duty-free business part expected to be completed in June next year.

"Sanya will focus on tourism, the modern service industry, the high-tech industry, and tropical agriculture to accelerate project construction. The city strives to exceed 100 billion yuan ($14 billion) in added value and the industrial investment scale of key industries by 2024," said Fan Weizheng, director of the Sanya municipal development and reform commission.
