1. A variety of rice noodles

For locals in Sanya, the day begins with a diverse selection of rice noodle dishes. With the freshness of Gangmen rice noodles, the smooth texture of Baoluo rice noodles, the tender and moist Hainan rice noodles, and the softness of Hou'an rice noodles, there's something to suit every palate.

Accompanying the steaming rice noodle soups is the perfect partner - youtiao (fried dough sticks). The sweet youtiao soaks up the delicious broth, perfectly blending the flavors and creating a mouthwatering experience.

2. Street snacks

Finger-shaped candies, pan-fried cakes, shrimp cakes, black sesame paste, black bean rice, black pork and salted egg sticky rice dumplings, ginger-infused brown sugar tofu pudding...there's a street snack for everyone in Sanya.

3. "Laobacha"

The most leisurely breakfast for Sanya locals is undoubtedly "laobacha", literally "old dad tea", a widespread institution usually found in the most weathered neighborhoods of Hainan.

Pineapple buns, puff pastries, meat floss buns...various classic old-style sweet breads and slightly bitter iced black tea or coffee make for the perfect combo.

Savoring breakfast with tea or coffee, gathering around tables and chairs, chatting, laughing, and enjoying each other's company - that's the true taste of old Sanya.
