Kapok, popularly known as the "flowers of heroes" in South China, are in full bloom again at the Sanya Nanshan Buddhism Cultural Tourism Zone, one of China's largest traditional Buddhism culture destinations in Sanya, a coastal city at the southern tip of Hainan Island.

The beauty and sweetness of the colorful flowers have attracted crowds of visitors, as well as birds and squirrels, for a spring outing. People have made Chinese characters that say "Come on China, Come on Wuhan" with the fallen red kapok blossoms to express their hope that the dazzling red kapok flowers could blow away the haze of the epidemic as soon as possible.
