Sanya's Tianya: one of China's most poetic districts

The journal Insight China named Tianya district in Sanya as one of China's Top 100 Most Poetic Counties and Cities in 2021, on May 1.

The area has witnessed significant changes in recent years. Its rapid development of urban and rural infrastructure, as well as popular scenic spots and range of exciting recreational activities, has resulted in local residents reporting rising levels of satisfaction.

The list was compiled using big data, public opinion and expert evaluation. It collected more than 100 million pieces of information across eight areas such as historical connotation, the environment and urban planning, as well as 120 keywords covering topics such as the former residences of notable individuals and wetland protection during the selection process.
