Sanya shortlisted for 'Happiest Cities in China'

Sanya has recently been shortlisted by Xinhua's Oriental Outlook magazine and the Liaowang Institute as one of the "Happiest Cities in China in 2021", along with Haikou.

The two cities, both in Hainan province, will be assessed with a focus on people's happiness and the quality of their development. Based on big data and previous years' rankings, a total of 100 prefecture-level cities and 100 county-level cities (districts) have been shortlisted.

The final list will be unveiled in October following big data collection, questionnaires, the submission of various documents, field investigations, and expert analysis.
