4th HIIFF boosts film industrial, cultural development

The closing ceremony of the 4th Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) was held in Sanya on Dec 24. It was not only an international cultural event, but also a platform to showcase the achievements of the Hainan Free Trade Port, and promote the development of the film industry.

During the film festival, a number of forums gave multiple perspectives on topics such as film creation and film technology, while guests focus on the Hainan film industry and China's film market. The four master classes brought enjoyment to professional filmmakers and film enthusiasts.

The H!Action Project Market and H! Market were two events that showcased their premium platform capabilities.
As an important part of H! Market activities, this year's international Best Shooting Scenic Spot Promotion Conference continued the core concept of "film and television + tourism". It also emphasized the guiding role of mainstream culture, gathering high-quality shooting location resources, and recommending online and offline research methods.

The H! Action Project Market holds a number of activities such as public project pitch, project negotiation, and an awards ceremony. After a 43-day call for submissions, a total of 702 entries were submitted this year. There were 15 script projects and nine projects in production that were also shortlisted.

This year's film festival set up six screening sections: "Gala," "Fest Best," "New Asian Director," "New Horizons," "Panorama" and "Classics." Hundreds of films were screened, which created a strong film atmosphere across the island.
