Revolutionary tradition

Print Updated: 2019-06-12

During the Agrarian Revolutionary War from 1927 to 1937, Zhongtianling, as the first revolutionary base in Yaxian County, provided a solid foundation for the establishment of the Red Revolutionary Armed Forces and a stronger Soviet power. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the CPC Yaxian County Committee established an anti-Japanese guerrilla base in Meishan in the face of overwhelming odds according to the instructions of the Qiongya Special Committee. The Committee encouraged local people to fight tenaciously against the enemy, an effort that turned the base into a fortress against the Japanese attack. The Zhongtianling Revolutionary Martyrs Monument and the Meishan Revolutionary History Museum, among others, are both valuable legacies of Sanya.
