New department set up to boost rural revitalization in Sanya

The city of Sanya officially set up the Sanya rural revitalization bureau on June 3, marking the start of a new journey towards rural revival.

By the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), 2,253 households and 10,063 poverty-stricken people in Sanya had been lifted out of poverty, while 16 poverty-stricken counties were all lifted out of poverty by the end of 2016. The infrastructure, public services and outlook of these villages have been greatly improved in recent years.

The Sanya rural revitalization bureau was established by recalibrating the Sanya poverty allowance work office and is led by the Sanya municipal bureau of agriculture and rural affairs. The main tasks of the department including consolidating and expanding poverty alleviation achievements, as well as implementing a rural revitalization strategy.
