The Third People’s Hospital of Hainan Province

Previously known as the Hainan Province Agricultural Reclamation Sanya Hospital, established in 1962, the Third People’s Hospital of Hainan Province is now located at No. 1154 of Jiefang Road, Tianya district, downtown Sanya. Covering a floor area of 103,600 square meters, the hospital has a capacity of 1,800 approved beds. It is a large-scale comprehensive 3A Grade hospital of integrated functionalities of medical care, emergency, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, teaching and research, comprehensive rehabilitation, health management and healthcare.

The Third People’s Hospital of Hainan Province is a designated hospital of the Asia Emergency Assistance Center (AEAC), a baby-friendly hospital certified by the National Commission of Population and Family Planning, an international emergency assistance network hospital, and a designated hospital for treating serious infectious, severe and emergent diseases in southern China. It has been appointed to undertake medical care tasks for the Boao Forum for Asia, among other national events, for many years. It is also one of the designated medical assistance hospitals for over a dozen foreign institutions in China.

Each year, the hospital receives about 1.2 million outpatients and about 30,000 inpatients. It is equipped with complete clinical and supportive departments and functions, including 33 clinical departments and 50 consulting rooms for outpatients. In addition to an internal medicine department, surgery department, gynaecology department, and pediatrics department, the outpatient department offers specialty services, including pain treatment, dermatology, stomatology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, traditional Chinese medicine, rehabilitation, nursing, multidisciplinary comprehensive service and nutrition. The hospital was also one of the first hospitals to offer emergency service in southern Hainan, which is supported by state-of-art equipment and experienced medical teams. A 24-hour green channel and the outpatient pediatrics service are available. The hospital is equipped with advanced examination and detection facilities, such as 3.0T NMR, 1.5T NMR, gemstone energy spectrum CT, 64-slice spiral CT, large C-arm, DR, color Doppler ultrasound, an automatic biochemical analyzer, and an automatic blood cell analysis push-film assembly line.
