Hainan province launched the COVID-19 vaccinations for children aged 3 to 11 on Oct 24. As of Oct 25, 5,360 children aged 3 to 11 years old in Sanya received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the Sanya municipal health commission, children aged 3 to 11 will receive centralized vaccinations at their schools or kindergartens. Children not enrolled in any schools or kindergartens can make appointments to get vaccinated at nearby vaccination sites.

If children need to be vaccinated with other vaccines such as an influenza vaccine, they need to wait more than 14 days to do so, and priority should be given to guarantee the vaccination of the national immunization program.

Children need to be accompanied by their guardian throughout the entire vaccination process. The guardian should sign an informed consent form, and bring the child's vaccination certificate and ID card. If the guardian cannot be present for guardianship, they need to sign a power of attorney and entrust the student's head teacher to accompany the child during vaccination.
