Rural revitalization brings higher incomes, creates more beautiful villages

In 2019, the city of Sanya in Hainan province invested 37.5 million yuan ($5.3 million) in special funds to develop 18 special industry projects in areas inhabited by local ethnic minority groups.

 

In addition, the popular tropical tourism destination also put 2.1 billion yuan in construction funds and built 66 beautiful villages in these areas.

 

According to statistics, the population of ethnic minority groups in Sanya reached 260,700 by 2019, of which 253,800 are part of the Li, Miao, and Hui ethnic groups, accounting for 40 percent of the city's total population.
