The red kapok flowers in Sanya Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone have recently been blooming like flames burning on the branches, attracting many visitors eager to enjoy the spring scenery.

On the kapok tree, the large kapok flowers stand on the branches. Each flower has five large fleshy petals, surrounded by many stamens in the center. The petals are milky white outside and orange-red or bright red inside. Seen from a distance, it seems like a group of flames burning on the branches, looking picturesque complemented by the background of the blue sea and sky.

Kapok flowers are popularly known as the "flowers of heroes" in South China. The average flowering period of kapok goes from February to early March, with their enchanting sight being particularly popular with people.
