National figure skating team holds open event in Sanya

More than 10 members of the Chinese national figure skating team staged a great show at Tus Ice and Snow Park Sanya on Aug 8, as the team launched a special open day event to the public.
After the performance, the skaters also took part in interactive activities with Sanya residents and taught them figure skating skills.  
In 2009, China designated Aug 8 as a national fitness day to mark the success of the Beijing Olympic Games, as well as to encourage the public to participate in sporting activities. The show in Sanya was a move to echo the national fitness campaign, as well as promote the city's ice and snow sports.
