A photo exhibition, under the theme of anti-COVID-19 and celebration of the 70th anniversary of Hainan's liberation, got underway in Sanya on May 24.

Held at Yingchunling Forest Park, the exhibition displays 70 photos that depict enormous changes in Sanya, as well as moving stories and scenes during the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

These real and heart-touching photos have attracted many visitors, including one who even found his own work unexpectedly.

"I want to give a thumbs up to the people who work in ordinary positions, yet accomplish extraordinary achievements," said Yuan Yongdong, who recorded how people from all walks of life joined the anti-COVID-19 pandemic efforts as a photojournalist during that period.

For other residents of Sanya, this exhibition is also fascinating to them. "It shows the process of how frontline heroes fight against the pandemic from different perspectives," said a local resident surnamed Liu.

Photographers ought to take root with the people and capture their everyday life, record the beautiful coastal scenery of Sanya, and create excellent works popular with the public, said Zhang Hongyan, president of the Sanya Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

"Through this photo exhibition, we wanted to eulogize stories near us that are ordinary, yet significant," she explained.

This photo exhibition will last from May 24 to May 29. It will then be held at the Hainan Hospital of PLA General Hospital from May 31 to June 5.
