Sanya holds project promotion for overseas Chinese merchants

Sanya in Hainan province held a project promotion conference at Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City on Sept 9, to attract investment from more than 50 overseas Chinese merchants from 14 countries and regions.

According to Liu Zhaojun, member of the standing committee of the CPC Sanya municipal committee and executive vice-mayor of Sanya, the city is increasing its 'opening-up' in accordance with the overall plan for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP).

With a focus on Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City and the Central Business District, Sanya is promoting its three leading industries of tourism, modern services and high-tech industries, while coordinating the development of infrastructure, social projects, and governance, which will provide overseas Chinese businessmen with a broad participation space and rare development opportunities.

The Sanya government has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese of Hainan Province on a joint investment promotion working mechanism, to establish a working mechanism for jointly serving overseas Chinese businessmen with regards to economic construction, business promotion, and rights and interests protection.

At the conference, the relevant persons in charge of the Sanya investment promotion bureau, the Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City Administration and the Sanya Central Business District Administration detailed the area's industrial development, preferential policies and industrial park construction, to stimulate the enthusiasm of overseas Chinese businessmen to invest in the city.

Representatives of overseas Chinese businessmen said that the event has further deepened their understanding of Sanya's economic and social development and strengthened their confidence in the construction of the Hainan FTP. They will give full play to their advantages in resources and actively mobilize more overseas Chinese businessmen to invest and start businesses in Hainan, making positive contributions to Sanya's development.
