A total of 42 legal service agencies and financial institutions from home and abroad joined a video conference on Jan 16 to mark the launch of a cross-border and cross-region domestic affairs legal service cooperation center in Sanya.

The launch ceremony for the Fenghuang Cross-Border and Cross-Region Domestic Affairs Legal Service Cooperation Center was held at Sanya Fenghuang Notary Office.

"Hainan is a free trade port with Chinese characteristics, and various resources will be drawn here," said an official in charge of the Sanya Fenghuang Notary Office.
"Cross-border and cross-region domestic affairs legal services can not only effectively protect all kinds of legal rights and interests, but also can increase synergy under the progress of optimizing legal resources for foreign investment, creating a better legal environment for the construction of Hainan FTP."

At the press conference, representatives from members of the cooperation center such as AHL Legal, Sanya Fenghuang Notary Office and China Merchants Bank Sanya Branch discussed the new opportunities created by the cross-border and cross-region domestic affairs legal services, the scope and mechanisms of cooperation in cross-border domestic affairs legal services following the implementation of China's Civil Code, cross-border wealth inheritance, and current private wealth management.

The representatives said that they will make full use of the platform to share the geographical and policy advantages of the Hainan FTP. They will also set international rules and practices on the basis of legal compliance to provide high-standard comprehensive legal services for cross-border and cross-region domestic affairs, and offer practical support for theoretical research and legislative innovation.
