Sanya airport passenger throughput exceeds 338,000 during Spring Festival holiday

During the Spring Festival "golden week" from Feb 11 to 17, a total of 2,192 airplanes took off from or landed at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, transporting 338,000 passengers.

On Feb 17, the airport transported 63,000 passengers, which represented its peak single-day throughput during the Spring Festival, and also the highest single-day throughput since the Spring Festival travel rush starting from Jan 28. The top destinations or source cities for passengers were Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong province, Chengdu in Sichuan province, and Chongqing.
