The number of tourists in Sanya increased rapidly from Feb 13, during the Spring Festival holiday, reaching a peak on Feb 16 and 17. Even since the "golden week" ended, tourism in the city has remained robust.

With a focus on tourism reception, market regulation, high-quality services, and the prevention and control of the epidemic, Sanya has been striving to enable citizens and tourists to enjoy the holiday.

The increase of hotel occupancy rate in Sanya since the festival also reflects the popularity of its staggering tourism industry. For instance, in some tourist resorts such as Haitang and Yalong bays, where there are numerous hotels, the occupancy rate of some establishments reached more than 90 percent over the past two days - higher than the numbers during the Spring Festival's early stages.

"After the Spring Festival holiday, as the number of travelers decreased, the prices of air tickets, hotels, and homestays and other tourism products fell, prompting tourists to go out in high spirits," said an official from Sanya's tourism promotion bureau.

Although the Spring Festival holiday has ended, Sanya's major scenic spots continue to explore new ways of attracting tourists and of seeking to meet their diverse and personalized needs.

For example, Sanya Haitang Bay Paddy Field National Park launched a themed activity to promote its sea of flowers during the day, and its sea of lights at night.
