Sanya's Luhuitou Scenic Area adds national honor

The Luhuitou Scenic Area in Sanya was recently honored as one of the country's top after-dark cultural and shopping venues.

It was listed in the third group of national-level nighttime cultural and tourism consumption aggregation areas, in a statement released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China on Jan 25.

The Luhuitou Scenic Area opened its doors to domestic and international visitors on July 1, 2022, offering free admission. Last year, it received 2.18 million people, achieving its highest annual visitor reception volume to date.

In recent years the area has been focusing on developing itself as a tourist-friendly place – creating a special shared urban public space for both hosts and guests and boosting good vibes among the community in general.

 
With its focus on the transformation and upgrading of the overall cultural and tourism industry – as well as improving quality and efficiency – it’s aiming to tap into the potential for the tourism dollar, urban culture, as well as the leisure and entertainment formats.
