Sanya is on a mission to transform itself into a premier global tourism hub, according to presentations made at the Hainan Province Tourism Development Conference held in metropolis on Oct 19.

The event was widely viewed as a landmark in Hainan's tourism evolution. It highlighted the province's strides in high-quality tourism industry advancements – fostering a platform for stakeholders to exchange insights on elevating the sector.

In the day before the conference, the Cultural and Tourism Department staged a premier project exchange event in Sanya, resulting in the signing of 16 collaboration agreements aimed at enhancing the quality of Hainan's cultural and tourism sectors.

What's more, the unveiling of the Sanya Cultural and Tourism Industry Policy and Location Advantages document showcased the city's allure on a global scale.

At the conference, Sanya unveiled three key visions.

The first is for the development of an island-ring tourism road and tourism stations. This will feature Sanya's seven major tourism hubs being equipped with high-end amenities such as parking facilities, visitor centers, RV camping sites and upscale accommodation.

Secondly, the city will build its "Sanya Greenway" project, a 775-kilometer greenway network spanning the city and linking all major attractions and scenic spots.

In addition, Sanya will plan flagship tourism ventures, focusing on billion-dollar-level projects and collaborations with leading entertainment and cultural enterprises to position it as a premier tourism destination.

The Hainan Province Tourism Development Conference is expected to have unlocked substantial growth prospects for Sanya's tourism sector as the city strives to achieve its vision of becoming a world-class resort destination.
