Hong Kong team heads to Sanya for 6th Asian Beach Games

The 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026 is just around the corner and the Hong Kong, China delegation is ready to go.

The delegation consists of 120 members — including 84 athletes — who will compete in eight events including open water swimming, water polo, 3x3 basketball and beach athletics.

A representative of the Sports Federation &Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) said athletes Nip Tsz-yin and Curtis Ho would serve as the flag bearers for the delegation at the opening ceremony of the Sanya 2026 Games, and lead the athletes into the event.

"It's an incredible honor to be a flag bearer for the first time," said Nip in an interview.

She expressed her excitement about the opportunity to meet and compete with top athletes from across Asia and added that she was looking forwards to learning and improving alongside them.

At just 16 years old, Ho is the youngest member of the team and is visibly excited.

He said that representing Hong Kong at the Asian Beach Games was both an honor and a responsibility and he hoped to perform at his best and achieve excellent results to make Hong Kong proud.
