Hainan's only provincial-level comprehensive service platform for overseas expansion of businesses — the Hainan Free Trade Port Outbound Service Platform — was launched in the coastal city of Sanya on June 30.
It marks the start of a new era of digital, integrated and regular operations of the overseas service system for the enterprises within the Hainan FTP.
Zhang Yueqiang, deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Hainan province, and Xiang Yihai, vice-mayor of Sanya and a member of the Sanya Municipal Party Committee, attended the launch and delivered speeches.
Xiang emphasized in his speech that the launch of the Hainan FTP Outbound Service Platform was a crucial step in promoting institutional openness.
As a leading hub and key showcase for the Hainan FTP, Sanya has seen remarkable growth in its outward-facing economy over the past six months of special customs operations.
It has expanded its foreign investment reach to 23 countries and regions and established the province's first financial industry cluster valued at over 100 billion yuan ($14.72 billion).
Looking ahead, Sanya aims to leverage the high-standard operations of the provincial-level offline overseas service hub in its Central Business District (CBD) to enhance comprehensive services including direct policy access, risk alerts and commercial mediations.
The aim is to help create a world-class international business environment that supports companies in confidently expanding into global markets.
The Hainan FTP Outbound Service Platform is built around digitalization — offering a comprehensive service ecosystem for businesses venturing abroad through its online platform, major offline bases in Haikou and Sanya cities, as well as industry alliances.
The platform streamlines the entire overseas expansion process online. That's while integrating park-based services and industry resources offline to effectively tackle various practical challenges faced by businesses — truly achieving what is called "one-stop resource aggregation, seamless policy access and unified overseas support".
During the launch, 30 professional overseas service agencies, including Frontier Services Group, signed agreements to join the platform.
Additionally, 10 companies with plans to expand internationally, such as Zijin Mining Trading (Hainan) Co Ltd, signed cooperation agreements to establish a presence in the Sanya CBD.
An exchange conference for overseas enterprises was also held, featuring experience sharing and roundtable discussions to explore a whole host of strategies for businesses to go global.
