Construction of the Hainan International Cultural Heritage and Art Exchange and the Hainan International Cultural Exchange Center has been ramping up since work began — two major projects for both the resort city of Sanya and China's southernmost Hainan province.

The Hainan International Cultural Heritage and Art Exchange is now in the final stages of decoration, with the main structure and mechanical and electrical work completed.

The finishing touches on the interior design and landscaping are currently underway, while equipment testing and cleaning has started, along with the final inspections.

Meanwhile, the Hainan International Cultural Exchange Center has completed its main steel roof structure and has moved fully into the decoration phase, with completion expected by June next year.

Situated in the Fenghuang Coast Unit Port Authority Area of the Sanya Central Business District, the two centers cover a total area of 169,300 square meters, with an investment of about 3.7 billion yuan ($546.63 million).

On completion, they'll fill a gap in Sanya of venues for high-end international cultural exchanges, large-scale performances, conferences and auctions of cultural relics and artworks.

Together, the two centers are expected to form a leading cultural and artistic hub, as well as landmarks in the Hainan Free Trade Port.
