The ever-popular coastal resort city of Sanya — located in China's southernmost Hainan province — is experiencing the very peak of its summer tourist season right now.

The international arrivals hall at Sanya Phoenix International Airport has been bustling with activity recently, to the sounds of a lively blend of Russian, Korean and English languages.

Russian tourists are particularly enjoying the square dancing at Haiyue Square in Sanya Bay. On the beaches of Yalong Bay, visitors from Southeast Asia relax under colorful umbrellas. Meanwhile, young travelers from Europe and the US board boats with their diving gear at Wuzhizhou Island.

As Hainan province continues to optimize its visa-free entry policy and increase its international flights, Sanya's inbound tourism market is taking off, with strong growth from key markets like Russia, South Korea and Southeast Asia.

In the early morning at Sanya Bay, Russian tourists stroll barefoot on the soft white sand, snapping photos with their phones.

Nearby, a Korean tour group poses for a picture on the beach, while their guide shares stories about Sanya's culture and scenery in fluent Korean.

Sanya's attractions are well-equipped, featuring clear multilingual signs. Currency exchange services are conveniently located, and volunteers offer guidance with multilingual support — their warm smiles enhancing the welcoming atmosphere of the coastal city.

Innovative cultural and tourism experiences have become major attractions.

At Wuzhizhou Island, a New Zealander zips through the waves on a jet ski, giving a thumbs-up as the spray flies.

At a surf club in Houhai village, a French woman successfully stands on a surfboard with her instructor's help, cheering in excitement.

In a chic cafe in Tianya town, a German enjoys a coconut, browses a menu with foreign language notes, and pays effortlessly with a quick scan of his phone.

In the Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park, an Australian learns to weave traditional Li brocade from a local artisan. In spite of being a green hand, he's fully engaged. Nearby, other international visitors join in a lively bamboo pole dance, their laughter echoing through the valley.

The sheer ease of international spending adds a very welcoming touch to the city. Local staff members deftly process tax refunds for Swedish tourists using POS machines at Sanya International Duty-Free Shopping Complex in Haitang Bay.

Meanwhile, a Russian-speaking concierge puts together individual itineraries for guests at the Mangrove Tree Resort World in Sanya Bay.

From fast-track customs procedures to seamless payment options — and from multilingual services to immersive cultural experiences — the thoughtful amenities ensure that international tourists genuinely feel right at home.

The lovely city, a tropical coastal destination located at latitude 18 degrees north, is opening up its arms with genuine warmth, attentive services and a variety of attractions.

In Sanya, every visitor from afar can truly experience the very special appeal and boundless charms of China travel.
