Under the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, the inclusiveness and acceptance of Sanya have made the modern tropical coastal city more attractive to talents from home and abroad.

Basha, a Russian translator who has lived in Sanya for more than 10 years, said that the natural and cultural environment in Sanya has made him feel very comfortable.

"The development of Sanya has changed greatly and I am a witness to the construction of the Hainan FTP," Basha said. He noted that the local government and businesses have also made great efforts to improve tourism infrastructure for foreign guests.

Zheng Yinhe, a tourism specialist, noted that Sanya's tourism industry has formed a standardized operation mode since being included in the third batch of national tourism standardization pilot cities in November 2014. In addition, the city has strengthened the promotion of tourism standards and improved the standardization of services provided by tourism enterprises.

Wang Xiaochun graduated from Zhejiang International Maritime College and majored in marine tourism planning and development before coming to Hainan in 2018.

Wang said that the tourism industry in Sanya has made remarkable progress in recent years. The layout of duty-free shops has increasingly improved, more luxury hotels have been established, scenic facilities and equipment have been constantly updated, and transportation has become more convenient. In particular, the construction of the Hainan FTP has attracted more tourists from home and abroad.

In the future, Wang said that she hopes to participate in various skills training events organized by the local government and companies, thus improving her service level and contributing to Hainan FTP construction.
