A free shuttle bus service, launched jointly by Sanya International Duty-free City and China Travel Service (Hainan) on Oct 1 last year, has to date served more than 200,000 shoppers.

The 21 buses cover 15 routes and connect 100 hotels across Sanya, bringing great convenience to tourists seeking to purchase things at duty-free shops in the city.

The buses connect major bays in the tropical city including Sanya Bay, Qingshui Bay, Tufu Bay, Hongtang Bay and tourist attractions such as Dadonghai, Xiaodonghai and other sites.

Tourists, after checking in at designated hotels, can make an appointment in advance for a free ride. They will receive a call from the customer service of CTS Hainan to inform that their appointment is successful.

The first shuttle bus leaves at 8:40 am, and the last one departs from Sanya International Duty-free City at 9:00 pm.

Each bus is disinfected on a daily basis according to regulations launched by Sanya to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, and a complete disinfection is carried out after dropping off all passengers.
