Themed flights promote Sanya tourism to air travelers

Around 70 Hainan Airlines flights are expected to promote Sanya tourism to more than 10,000 air travelers over the next two weeks.

Passengers on these themed flights will be given postcards and brochures about Sanya tourism as souvenirs. Staff at the Sanya Tourism Promotion Bureau will also give an eight-question quiz - with prizes available - on Sanya's local tourist attractions and culinary delicacies, to help familiarize tourists with the rich tourism resources of the city.

In addition, passengers can also scan the bureau's official QR code in front of their chairs or search "Hello Sanya" ("你好三亚") to access a comprehensive travel guide.

Young tourists from first-tier cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, as well as the emerging first-tier cities in Sichuan province and Chongqing municipality, account for 60 to 70 percent of the total young tourists in Sanya. They prefer local cuisine, outdoor sports, and fashion activities like music festivals and art festivals, and expect a unique and personalized travel experience.

In response, Sanya has planned various forms of themed activities to boost its tourism market this year, including the 2021 Hainan International Diving Festival, the 2021 Internet Celebrities Competition, an underwater photography competition, and a sunset party and marine concert.
