China's railway network has expanded with new direct routes connecting Shenzhen, Liuzhou, and Anyang to the tropical destination of Sanya, starting July 1.
The upgraded national schedule now extends the previous Shenzhen East-Haikou Z8006/7 and Z8008/5 services to Sanya, with daily operations. Departing from Shenzhen East at 6:42 pm, the southbound train arrives in Sanya at 1:10 pm the next day after an 18-hour and 28-minute journey through Guangzhou, Maoming, and Haikou. The northbound service departs from Sanya at 12:06 pm and reaches Shenzhen East at 6:22 am.
A distinctive aspect of this route is the innovative train-ferry crossing of Qiongzhou Strait, where carriages stay intact during the sea journey.
Liuzhou now offers its first direct train to Sanya, departing at 6:10 am and arriving at 10:27 pm on the same day. The return train leaves Sanya at 9:06 am, reaching Liuzhou at 1:46 am. Moreover, the former Xinxiang-Haikou route has been extended to connect Anyang with Sanya, with stops at Zhengzhou and Changsha.
These new services eliminate transfer hassles and offer affordable travel options, with tickets available through official channels. The scenic routes through Guangdong's western regions and across Qiongzhou Strait provide comfortable summer vacation options for families.
