Sanya airport launches new Sanya-Jinan-Seoul route

Sanya Phoenix International Airport launched its "Sanya-Jinan-Seoul" route on Aug 1. The service runs daily and is operated by Shandong Airlines with a B737 aircraft. 

Outbound flight SC8005 departs Sanya at 15:10, stops in Jinan, and arrives in Seoul at 21:40. Return flight SC8006 leaves Seoul at 07:45, transits via Jinan, and lands in Sanya at 14:10 (all are Beijing time). 

By late July 2025, the airport offered 35 international and regional routes covering 26 key cities across Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Central Asia, and Europe. Future expansion plans include routes to Minsk and Kuala Lumpur, along with intercontinental flights leveraging fifth and seventh freedom rights to strengthen its regional hub role. 

An airport representative said that the new route enhances connectivity between China and South Korea, facilitating business, tourism, and cultural exchanges under the visa-free policy.
