Sanya to resume direct flights to Hong Kong

Starting from July 1, direct flights between Sanya and Hong Kong will resume.

July 1 marks the 26th anniversary of the return of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the 29 anniversary of the opening of Sanya Phoenix International Airport. Starting from this day, the Sanya tourism board and Sanya Phoenix Airport will collaborate with Hong Kong Airlines to resume direct flights between Sanya and Hong Kong, opening regular flights to maintain daily traffic.

In terms of timing, the departure time from Hong Kong to Sanya has been set at 11:20, and the estimated arrival time is 12:45. The departure time from Sanya to Hong Kong is 13:45, with the estimated arrival time set at 15:45.

In 2023, with the continuous deepening of cooperation between Hainan and Hong Kong, a series of high-quality cooperation activities have been carried out in various fields such as tourism, finance, ecological civilization construction, shopping consumption, and professional talent services.

A tourism promotion event, organized by the Sanya tourism board, was held in Hong Kong from May 31 to June 1. The Sanya-based enterprises that were participating in the promotion covered multiple fields such as hotels, entertainment, and sports. They aimed to promote the sharing of tourism resources, and the deepening of cooperation with Hong Kong.

With the gradual opening of the inbound tourism market, there are currently 16 round-trip flights between Hainan and Hong Kong per week. In 2019, Sanya's hotels received 906,000 inbound overnight guests, including 71,000 Hong Kong tourists. As of April this year, the influx of Hong Kong tourists staying in Sanya hotels increased by 43.8 percent year-on-year, ranking first in Sanya's inbound market as a source of tourists.
