Outdoor movie screening program returns for 7th Hainan film festival

The seventh Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) recently announced the return of its "Have Fun" outdoor movie screening events, once again gathering film lovers at dusk on this tropical island with unique venues and a curated film selection.

Since its debut at the 6th HIIFF, the "Have Fun" events have lit up screens in a series of dream locations, bringing the magic of cinema directly into the lives of residents and tourists alike. This year, the program expands its reach to diverse spaces including beaches, hilltops, and urban plazas. Screenings will feature Chinese and international highlights on the beach of Tianya town in Sanya's Maling community; films exploring themes of "growth and choices" at the Luhuitou Scenic Area; a special focus on Thai cinema at Sanya Summer Station Shop; and outstanding works by ASEAN creators at the China Media Group (Sanya).

In a collaborative effort with Weibo, the "Weibo special movie screening" will give the audience complete freedom to choose the films, while a partnership with Bilibili will present the "Bilibili easter egg screening", featuring the popular work Nobody.

Synchronized with the screenings, the "Have-Fun" market will open, gathering a collection of film merchandise, trendy handicrafts, and local delicacies.
