Sanya provides stage, HIIFF brings spotlight

The seventh edition of the Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) is set to open on Dec 3. Guided by the principles of "internationalization, marketization, and alignment with the Free Trade Port", the festival continues to serve the broader development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

A major highlight is the strong presence of top global film IPs—renowned director James Cameron will bring Avatar 3 to Sanya for its China premiere on Dec 8.

Over 20 cultural and tourism activities have been organized in an effort to create distinctive brand events. These include the third China Sanya International Bridal Fashion Week, a world-class low-altitude art drone show, and a G.E.M. concert.

Sanya has also integrated resources from scenic spots, hotels, duty-free shopping, and transportation to provide one-stop services. Furthermore, the new outlying-island duty-free shopping policy implemented since Nov 1, coupled with Sanya's year-end duty-free shopping vouchers and film consumption benefit initiatives, will further stimulate new momentum in cultural and tourism consumption.

Through the experience it has gained from the past six festivals, Sanya has established a four-level coordination mechanism involving the provincial organizing committee, the municipal executive committee, supporting units, and the organizing company. This ensures efficient and smooth preparation through effective resource integration and real-time information sharing.
