Visa-free policy optimization brings abundance of intl tourists to Sanya

The impact of the expanded visa-free entry policy in Hainan is becoming increasingly evident. In the first half of this year, the number of people entering Hainan visa-free has exceeded 146,000, a 12.3-fold increase compared to the previous year.

Effective Feb 9, 2024, the National Immigration Administration expanded the visa-free policy to allow citizens of 59 countries to visit Hainan for business, family reunions, medical treatment, exhibitions, and sports events, with stays of up to 30 days.

Sanya Phoenix International Airport features multilingual signage in Chinese, English, Russian, Korean, and more, making it easy for travelers to navigate international departure and arrival halls. Currency exchange counters and mobile payment guides are also equipped with multilingual translations, providing guidance for foreign tourists traveling and spending in China.

The internationalization of Hainan extends beyond the airport. In Sanya's Dadonghai Tourist Area, many signs at restaurants, specialty stores, and beverage shops are also labeled in multiple foreign languages.
