Torch relay in Sanya showcases natural splendor, ethnic unity

On Oct 9, the torch lighting and torch relay ceremony of the 12th National Traditional Ethnic Minority Sports Games was held in Sanya.

Members of various ethnic groups participated in a ceremonial performance, involving singing and dancing, to welcome the arrival of three symbolic fires. These fires included "Ecological Fire," representing the harmony between humans and nature; the "Fire of Hope," symbolizing vitality; and the "Fire of Technology," signifying the new productive forces.

Leaders of the organizers jointly lit the three flames from different locations, symbolizing the "Unity Fire" of the games.

The convergence of the "Unity Fire" symbolizes the common unity, shared development, and mutual prosperity of all ethnic groups in the new era.

Subsequently, the torch relay began. Twelve torchbearers relayed the "Unity Fire" one after another.

The torch relay is planned to integrate land, sea, and air transportation modes, providing a platform to showcase Sanya's distinctive and high-quality coastal tourism resources. The designated route is set to include scenic spots like Dadonghai, Nanshan, Tianya Haijiao, and Sanya Bay's Coconut Dream Gallery, demonstrating both the natural splendor of Hainan and the spirit of ethnic unity and cooperation.

From Nov 22 to 30, the 12th National Traditional Ethnic Minority Sports Games will be held in Sanya, Hainan province, featuring 18 competitive events.
