Ethnic minority games main stage handed over in Sanya for use

Construction of the main stage for the opening and closing ceremonies of the upcoming 12th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities has been completed.

According to the games organizers, construction began on July 23 and it passed the interim acceptance on Oct 4, making it ready for use. The games will be held on Nov 22-30 in Sanya, in China's southernmost Hainan province.

The opening and closing ceremonies of the games will take place at the Egret Sports Stadium in the Sanya Sports Center in late November.

The main stage for the opening and closing ceremonies of the latest edition of the games covers an area exceeding 7,000 square meters, with over 200 sound devices installed.

According to the head of the command center, after the first comprehensive rehearsal on Oct 25, the center conducted three full-process simulations based on the results and organized training.

For a second rehearsal planned for Nov 5, the command center will oversee on-site security, fire protection, medical services and communications unit tests for the opening and closing ceremonies.
