Traditional ethnic games wrap up in Sanya

The 12th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities concluded after nine days of events on Nov 30 in Sanya.

The closing ceremony was held at the Sanya Sports Center at 8 pm, with athletes, coaches and guests from various ethnic groups nationwide gathering to celebrate the success of the games.

During the closing ceremony, the national flag handover took place. The 13th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities will be held in Hunan province in 2027.

This edition of the games saw the participation of 6,960 athletes nationwide. They competed in 18 sporting events and three exhibition categories.

Throughout the games activities included sightseeing tours, a grand ethnic minority celebration, exhibitions of traditional ethnic minority sports culture in China and displays showcasing Hainan's achievements in constructing free trade port.
