Sanya International Duty-Free Complex received over 300,000 visitors from Jan 28 to Feb 1, during the eight-day Spring Festival holiday, with the number of visitors exceeding 76,000 on Feb 1 alone.

"From the first to the seventh day of the first month of the Chinese calendar, we set up five intangible cultural heritage handcraft experience areas, including calligraphy, sugar painting, lacquer fans, printing, and paper-cutting. Families account for 70 percent of participants so far," said Fu Bing, the event planning director of Sanya International Duty-Free Complex.

In addition, the duty-free complex combined traditional Spring Festival customs with an island theme, holding all-day intangible cultural heritage-themed scenes. At the same time, over 900 brands and 45 major duty-free categories in the duty-free complex launched activities such as releasing full-value gifts, offering multiple points, and providing Spring Festival-exclusive snake zodiac products.

To cope with the high number of visitors, the duty-free complex has strengthened service guarantees in advance. The complex completed safety inspections and risk warnings before the festival and supplemented the frontline sales team with 250 part-time staff to ensure timely responses to inquiries, checkout, and packaging. It also ensured sufficient stock of popular items and dispatched guides to high-selling areas to quickly answer visitors' questions.
