This year commemorates the 200th anniversary of the relocation and completion of Yacheng Confucius Temple.
The ancient Yacheng city was established during the Southern Song Dynasty (960-1279), signifying a significant milestone in the region's history.
Yacheng Ancient City, located in the present-day Yazhou district of Sanya city, is surrounded by the historical structures such as the city wall, Yacheng Confucius Temple, Guangji Bridge, Yingwang Tower, Shengde Hall, and Baoping village.
The tourism and culture bureau of Yazhou district reports the protection of 207 cultural relics, including 167 ancient buildings encompassing city walls, temples, towers, bridges, and residential architecture.
These sites include homes of ancient sages, revolutionary martyrs, and commoners, each embodying the profound essence of Confucian, Taoist, and revolutionary cultures. They contribute to the rich historical and cultural foundation of Yazhou.
