Sanya adds 2 new 4A-level tourist attractions

On March 27, Hainan authority announced the addition of five new national 4A-level tourist attractions, including Sanya's Dadonghai Tourism Zone and Sanya International Duty-Free Shopping Complex Tourism Zone.

Dadonghai Tourism Zone, located in southern Sanya, is a well-developed crescent-shaped bay spanning 19.49 hectares of land and 26.08 hectares of sea, with a 2.9-kilometer coastline. Known for its open-access urban resort setting, it integrates tourism, leisure, and business, earning accolades such as "China's Top 40 Scenic Spots" and a national-level leisure block in 2025.

Meanwhile, Sanya International Duty-Free Shopping Complex Tourism Zone, situated in Haitang Bay, covers 357 mu (23.8 hectares) and features three iconic architectural clusters resembling "sea hibiscus", "shells" and "yachts", connected by the landmark "Cloud Ring Bridge". The zone offers cultural attractions like a global cosmetics museum and art spaces, divided into fashion and leisure-themed areas.

Sanya now boasts 16 A-level scenic spots, including four 5A-rated sites like Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, Daxiao Dongtian Tourism Zone, Wuzhizhou Island Tourism Area, and Tianya Haijiao Tourism Area, eight 4A-rated destinations such as Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Tourism Zone, and three 3A-rated destinations like the Yalong Bay International Rose Valley. The additions will further enhance Sanya's appeal as a top-tier travel hub.
