Sanya to host 'Cultural and Natural Heritage Day' themed event

Sanya will hold a themed event on June 9 to celebrate the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day at the Sanya International Duty-free Plaza.

The event was designed to showcase Sanya's intangible cultural heritage (ICH) protection efforts. It will feature a Qiongju opera competition, an ICH photos exhibition, a Li ethnic group sports competition, a Li-style fashion show, a Li brocade exhibition, and an ICH specialty snack tasting activity.

At the event, the Qiongju opera competition organizers will be awarding one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, and several outstanding awards to the participants. 

A beautiful stage will be set up on site to showcase the traditional clothing of Sanya's Li ethnic group.

The Li brocade exhibition will showcase 100 Li brocade works, and there will also be a live performance, where visitors can see the exquisite Li brocade weaving process up close.

The ICH market will boasts special ICH snacks such as tricolor rice, glutinous rice wine, and sour noodles. There will also be several ICH skills exhibitions, including the Li primitive pottery making skills exhibition, the Li rattan and bamboo weaving skills exhibition, and the Li traditional textile, dyeing, weaving, and embroidery skills exhibition.

The event will also host competitions featuring the traditional sports of the Li ethnic group, which include archery and tug-of-war. This will allow everyone to participate in interactive activities and experience the unique charm of traditional Li sports.
