Sanya launches first intl ICH lifestyle festival

Sanya's First International Intangible Cultural Heritage Life Festival commenced at the square of Dadonghai Tourist Area on Nov 12.

This coastal cultural event integrates intangible cultural heritage displays, folk performances, and food tasting. The festival features over 70 exhibition booths from 10 countries and will run until Nov 16.

The international zone presents handicrafts from Iran and specialty products from Thailand. In the domestic zone, Hainan's Li brocade showcases vibrant patterns reflecting millennia of Li ethnic culture, while Li rattan and bamboo weaving skills transform natural materials into living art, creating a convergence of Chinese and global culture.

Huang Dandan, head of the festival, stated that the event serves not only as a dynamic practice integrating intangible cultural heritage into modern life but also as a valuable initiative to promote cultural exchange for the Hainan Free Trade Port.
