Long-table banquet offers authentic Li, Miao flavors

The third day of the third lunar month, which is April 22 this year, is a traditional festival for Hainan's Li and Miao ethnic groups, with a history of over 1,000 years. During the Sanyuesan Festival, Li and Miao people like to gather together and celebrate.


The long-table banquet is a solemn form of Li and Miao banquets, which boasts a long history. Whenever encounter important festivals or guests, Li and Miao people will set up a long-table banquet to celebrate the festival and entertain guests.

The tables, wine cups, and chopsticks of the long-table banquet are made of local bamboo. The long table is covered with a layer of green plantain leaves, which are full of all kinds of authentic Li and Miao flavored foods like three-color rice, bamboo tube food, wine, pork, mangos chicken, and fruits.

Three-color rice is a must-have delicacy made by the Li ethnic group in Hainan during the traditional Sanyuesan Festival, symbolizing peace, prosperity, and auspiciousness in the coming year.
