You may have tried coconuts and zongzi, but have you ever tasted zongzi wrapped in coconut leaves? This unique delicacy belongs exclusively to the Yazhou district in Sanya.
Yazhou Coconut Zongzi is characterized by its "external covering" made of coconut leaves, emitting a subtle coconut scent. Enclosed within is glutinous rice that envelops substantial portions of pork and preserved salted egg yolk.
The selected pork belly is marinated in over 10 different seasonings, resulting in a savory and flavorful taste that gives the zongzi a chewy texture, making it fragrant yet not greasy.
