Sanya, taking advantage of its tropical climate, is developing its fruit industry, with five main varieties driving agricultural growth and increasing rural incomes through both domestic and international markets.

Mangoes, the leading fruit, cover over 400,000 mu (26,667 hectares) and produce 650,000 metric tons annually. Known for their sweet flavor and early availability, they are exported to over 10 countries including Canada, Germany, and Singapore, with a brand value of over 6.1 billion yuan ($856 million).

The premium wax apple is valued for its crisp texture and high juice content. Grown under abundant sunshine and scientific management, it has entered markets in Canada and is expanding to Singapore.

Benefiting from off-season production, Sanya melons offer sweet and juicy flesh during winter. With a core planting area of 20,000 mu (1,333 hectares), it supports a supply chain that generates billions in revenue and holds a national geographical indication certification.

Sanya's passion fruit achieves a Brix level of 18–22. Grown using advanced techniques like supplemental lighting, it meets international GlobalGAP standards, facilitating access to new markets.

The yellow pitaya (dragon fruit) is known for its intense sweetness and unique gelatinous texture. This premium fruit is popular with tourists and is distributed to major Chinese cities, boosting local profits.

Together, these fruits demonstrate Sanya's successful move toward branded, technology-driven agriculture, boosting the local economy and expanding its presence in the global fruit market.
