Yazhou, Sanya signs cooperation agreement with Hainan University

On May 10, Hainan University held a signing ceremony for its strategic cooperation framework agreement with Yazhou district, Sanya.

This cooperation will strengthen the complementarity of advantageous resources and promote more achievements in talent cultivation, public research platform, and smart farmland construction.

Yazhou district has unique climate conditions, abundant land resources, and rich experience in seed breeding.

Previously, Hainan University and Yazhou district had conducted extensive cooperation. In 2021, the Sanya municipal people's government signed a cooperation agreement with Hainan University to establish the Sanya Nanfan Research Institute of Hainan University.

In terms of talent exchange, Yazhou district has hired 12 experts from Hainan University, and invited “doctoral village chiefs" to settle in. The Batou base of Hainan University has achieved its goal of "double cropping hybrid rice with a yield of 1,500 kilograms per mu (0.07 hectares)" for two consecutive years.

An official of Yazhou district stated that the district will continue to provide support and convenience to Hainan University, as well as gather favorable resources to promote the development of cooperation projects between the two sides.
