Sanya adds 8,690 student places this year

Sanya has added 8,690 new school seats for primary and secondary schools as well as kindergartens in 2024.

They include 10 new kindergartens with 1,350 additional seats and four new primary and secondary schools with 7,160 seats.

Statistics show that since 2022, Sanya has cumulatively added 25,015 school seats – meeting the enrollment needs of school-age children in the city.

In a bid to boost the overall level of social welfare, the city has introduced the Sanya Livelihood Construction Enhancement Project Implementation Plan.

It focuses on 10 key initiatives – including expanding its inclusive kindergarten coverage, increasing public school seats for primary and secondary education, constructing affordable residential housing units and expanding social assistance coverage for low-income individuals.

In Sanya, 152 projects are currently in progress, with a total investment of 55.1 billion yuan ($7.8 billion). They comprise 43 education projects, 26 health projects, 35 cultural and sports projects, 32 social security projects and 16 housing security projects.
